Parametric Truss

One of the main advantages of parametric modeling is the ability to seamlessly update complex assemblies (systems with many parts) with new design iterations. This approach is far superior to discreetly modeling individual elements with each design change. Tectonic framing systems in architectural design are a prime example of where parametric affordances can be applied in architectural design. Well planned relational modeling can enable for hierarchy of structural members, automatically generated non-standard joints, and multiple instantiations of systems in varying site conditions.

Created here is a parametric truss with three levels of structural hierarchy and two drive curves as user input.
